COLLEEN PARKER

 

Born: 1944. Parkes, New South Wales, Australia.
Background: Educated at P.L.C. Pymble, sudying art at school. Basically self taught with strong support and encouragement from C D Parker (water colourpainter) and members of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales, including Dora Toovey, Molly Johnson and Henry Hanke.

Member of the Enamellers association of New South Wales

Member of the Royal Art Society Young Artist Group 1962-64

Studied with Kevin Oxley 1972-74

Hawkesbury Community Workshop and group tuition with Esme Bell

First one person exhibition of paintings at Pitt Gallery, Richmond 1976

Associate of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales 1982

Fellow of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales 1986

Painted and exhibited in Mallorca, Spain 1985; Barcelona 1986; Dordogne area of France & Estinia 1995

Artist in residence at Mulgara Gallery, Yulara, Northern Territory 1993-96, Kakadu National Park 1995-96, 2004

Artist in residence and curator of gallery and all art related matters on the Norwegian Star cruise ship

Painting trip across the Nullarbor to Perth and back

Judge at Wyong Festival of Arts 2004
